About the position
We are currently hiring laborers to join our growing team. Job Duties & Responsibilities- Ability to Grade in-between buildings and sidewalks with hand shovels
- Use of shovels and rakes for trenching, grading, and fine-tuning earthwork
- Cleans and prepares job sites including removal of debris, garbage, and excess water accumulation
- Operates a variety of hand tools and machines, including water spraying hoses and shovels
- Assist in digging manholes, grading, and guiding equipment operators using universal hand signaling
- Assist pipe layers during pipe installation projects
- Assist with handling and transporting construction materials
- Set up warning devices and barricades as needed
- Direct traffic safely around the site
- Follow instructions from supervisors to perform manual labor task items
- Good safety awareness and willingness to engage with and contribute to ongoing safe work practices including strong knowledge of excavation, trenching and shoring safety standards
- Ensure proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn at all times while onsite
- Daily cleanup of work sites
- Clean, inspect and properly maintain tools
- Attend all required safety trainings and meetings
- Ability to lift and carry material and/or equipment weighing up to 100lbs, including but not limited to generators, jumping jacks, water hoses, etc.
- Ability to dig/shovel various soils while performing daily tasks
- Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time in ranging weather conditions
- Requires continuous bending, heavy lifting and walking on uneven ground
- Flexibility to work overtime when needed and/or required
- Must have basic computer skills, including the ability to correspond via email and text
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass required drug test and background check screening
- Must have a working cell phone
